Let’s take a closer look at the Conspit CPP.Lite
As you can see, it’s beautiful ! We don’t see any cable sticking out. The baseplate is in aluminun below and in plastic above but we can order a full aluminum baseplate. On the brake, we have the hydraulic sensor which makes the oil flow into the cylinder where the elastomer is located to obtain a better feeling.
As you can see, the clutch has a non-linear clutch pedal to feel the shift point. On each pedal, we have a vibration system to feel traction control or ABS and more.
Modulating braking feel
Before talking about the brake, let’s start with the throttle on which we can adjust the hardness thanks to these 4 ranges. You can also adjust the preloading. The vibration motor is managed by the Conspit Link software or on Simhub.
As for the plate, it can be adjusted in height or inclination.
- 0 to 5° for Formula
- 5 to 15° for GT
For the clutch, pretty much the same. The difference is the two ranges for the hardness. I appreciate all the settings, it’s clear and really easy to adjust without having to get up from the chassis! True story guys. We don’t need any tools. I didn’t change the throttle, it’s fine for me but Sam made it harder. We tested lowering the height of the clutch but the feeling was better with the first seetings.
Ok, now the brake ! As the throttle, we can adjust the hardness thanks to these 4 ranges. The plate can be adjust too. For the preloading, be carefull too respect the order :
- Adjust the hardness
- Adjust the preload
Why ? To avoid damaging the elastomer inside and keep the pedalset in good condition. So, I prefer formula and when I adjust the height to the top it’s perfect. Also, a turn and a half for the preload and the feeling is the best for me.
Conspit Link
Let’s talk about the software Conspit Link. We tested the version V2.0.8. The software is really simple. As you can see, we start with calibration. Just select the pedal and start calibration. We can also create some curves.
Accessory settings is about the vibration motors. Just click on the “test” button to recognize each channel. Again, it’s really simple to adjust. All the software has been designed to make it easy to navigate. Create a profile, import or export is easy. The vibration motor on the throttle is used for TC and I put ABS on the brake. My first adjustment is to lower the power of the vibration motors which are too strong.
I have in my mind the shakers created by Simagic for the P1000 which is a hell of a revolution that comes as close as possible to reality. Here, the vibration motors are reminiscent of the P1 Sim Mistral.
The launch control impressed Sam… Of course, a little bit cheating! It’s forbitten on IRacing and we understand why. We have a huge advantage on track.
First impressions of the Conspit CPP.Lite
I’m glad to say : the software is working well. Really easy to take in charge. We can adjust the curves by moving the points on the graph and we appreciate that so much. After calibrating the pedals and adjusting the vibration motors, en route to the track ! By the way, the vibration motors are powerful, I lowered them to minimum because it was vibrating too much.
On the track, I tested with Assetto Corsa on Magny-court track. The feeling was great even for the clutch, it’s interesting. I got my bearings which is not always the case. Unfortunately, on certain pedalboards I never found my bearings or the adjustments took a long time to make.
For the price, I’m impressed of the feeling, the software and the hardware.
Pedal adjustments
Out of the box, the pedalboard works well. But to suit me, I had to make some adjustments. I need a fairly soft throttle and the brake rather short and hard. After testing a few settings, I realize which the pedalboard Conspit CPP.Lite is suitable for both GT and formula. Really not bad at all!
