The French brand is making a nice gesture in the week of September 12 to 19, 2024. You can receive a free Thrustmaster Quick Release Upgrade to install on your old-generation steering wheel to convert it permanently to the brand’s new QR. Let’s take a look at which steering wheels are compatible and how to receive your free QR.

What is the Thrustmaster Quick Release Update?
This is a new Quick Release (the part that joins the steering wheel to the steering shaft of your base). It replaces the old plastic model that “screwed” to the rig.
The old “Quick Release Adapter” was compatible with all the brand’s steering wheels, but was clearly not optimal in terms of rigidity or force feedback transmission. In our case, it always generated small squeaks and unwanted flex.
By completely replacing the original QR on the steering wheel, the new model should not only eliminate unwanted flexing, but also reduce the risk of squeaking/cracking.
However, this new system is not compatible with all Thrustmaster steering wheels!
Which wheels is the Thrustmaster QR Upgrade compatible with?
Unfortunately, not all Thrustmaster steering wheels will be compatible with this QR. Here’s the list to date:

What are the conditions for receiving it free of charge?
The offer is reserved for current customers of the official Thrustmaster boutique or members of the Thrustmaster Club as of September 10, 2024 who own a T818 steering wheel base during the period of this offer.
Valid from September 12, 2024 to September 19, 2024 inclusive (UTC 1) for Thrustmaster Official Store customers or Thrustmaster Club members residing in Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States of America. While stocks last.
If you are eligible, you have received an email from Thrustmaster Club. This invites you to claim your Quick Release Upgrade. You’ll then have access to a short questionnaire to fill in, asking for your name, address, Thrustmaster T818 serial number and the model of steering wheel you own and will be upgrading.
