Discovery: Moza TSW, finally a steering wheel for ETS2 and ATS!

The Moza TSW steering wheel responds to a very specific need that has been little exploited by brands: to offer a steering wheel for Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator or any other game with big trucks. Let’s face it, it’s an interesting approach. In any case, it caught my eye enough for me to take a closer look at the information available on this trucking steering wheel. Let’s have a look together!

Ergonomics and design

Design-wise, it looks very promising. The large 40cm diameter features a grip covered in perforated synthetic leather. All 14 buttons are backlit, and their color can be changed at will. A sheet of stickers is supplied with the steering wheel for the button logos.

There are also two rotary selectors and two analog joysticks at thumb level. This brings us to a total of 26 configurable functions. That’s not bad at all, and for an ETS2 steering wheel, it’s enough for most game functions.

As a trucking steering wheel, there are no rear paddles. In fact, the rear panel doesn’t really benefit from any special treatment, with a plastic surface that clearly reveals its screw locations. Well, it’s not often you get to peek at the back of your steering wheel, and if it saves you a few euros, it’ll do the trick.

Connect it to a third-party base station

Would you like to use this steering wheel on a Simagic, Asetek, Fanatec or other base? It’s possible, but not very well thought out. That’s normal, you might say, as Moza has rushed out its kit to keep up with the competition. Anyway, that’s it! On the rear panel of the steering wheel, you’ll find the socket for connecting it to the Universal Hub Kit. However, the QR is still not detachable.

If you want to install it on a third-party base, proceed as follows:

  • Screw the Universal Hub Kit adapter onto your terse Quick Release;
  • Clip your Moza TSW steering wheel to the adapter attached to the QR;
  • Connect the plug at the rear of the TSW steering wheel to the Moza Hub
  • Connect the Moza Hub to your PC

The kit is currently priced at 49€.

A special table clamp for ETS2 and ATS steering wheels

And since new things never come alone (so they say), Moza has also released a steel table clamp that allows the base to be tilted at an angle ranging from 0 to 75°. The aim here is to have the steering wheel almost as flat in front of you as it would be in a real truck.

The clamp is sold as an option for 55€, and can also be used to adjust the height of the base, so that its “top” can be aligned with the table, or lowered in increments down to 7cm below the tabletop.

Do I need a credit card for the Moza TSW?

Offered on the Moza website at 329€, this truck steering wheel is sure to find its audience quickly. After all, apart from Thrustmaster and a few trials with obscure brands, fans of ETS2 and other trucking games have been a little left out in the cold. Especially in the Direct Drive market.

The big question I’m asking myself is “Should I pass the CB to give you a full review?” I’ll let you tell me what you think in the comments!

Moza TSW in brief

A welcome novelty in the world of trucking steering wheels. It probably won’t have too much trouble finding its audience, after all, who hasn’t spent a hundred hours on ETS2? I plead guilty !
