SimLab GT1 Pro: an affordable profile chassis!

Another simracing chassis in aluminium profile?! That’s right! The SimLab GT1 Pro has just gone on pre-order. So what’s new for SimLab this time? How does this new model fit in with their existing range? What can we expect from this announcement? Let’s take a closer look at the information Sim Lab has made available to us!

The SimLab GT1 Pro is a great mid-range option

The first piece of good news is the price. It can already be pre-ordered for €549.

But even without pre-orders, the price is “only” 599€. This puts the SimLab GT1 Pro 150€ above the GT1 Evo model, which also did a good job, but has been out of stock for some time now.

Among the good news about the GT1 Pro is its compatibility with many more Direct Drive bases and pedalboards than its predecessor. A new design, perhaps a little sexier, although this is obviously a matter of taste. But also a more stable mounting than before for gearboxes and handbrakes. The brand also insists that the model is very easy to assemble, with pre-drilled screw slots. The plates that hold your Direct Drive chainstay and crankset have also been improved for greater rigidity. Instead of presenting assemblies, these sections are now built from a single piece of aluminum.

And let’s not forget to mention its dimensions , here excluding screen supports: 135cm long, 58cm wide at floor level, 68cm wide at maximum, 77cm high.

Accessories included

When it comes to accessories, SimLab has had the elegance not to play the card of a catalog of lengthy, overpriced options. To their credit. Here’s what you’ll find in the box:

  • Aluminum extrusions and parts for chassis mounting.
  • Mounting plate for your motor base.
  • Brackets for front base mounting.
  • Bottom bracket mounting plate.
  • Brackets for mounting shifters and handbrakes.
  • Fasteners for mounting a bucket and accessories.
  • Rubber feet.

Brand options

As always, you’ll need to add the bucket seat yourself. Either by purchasing it as an option from the brand, or by using a bucket you’ve salvaged or bought off the shelf. You’ll also need mounting brackets for the bucket (optional for €39.95 from Sim Lab). And last but not least, you’ll need runners, also available as an option for €39.95.

And if you don’t have a screen mount, you can opt for a single-screen or triple-screen mount. This will fit directly onto the SimLab GT1 Pro.

What do you think of this model?

I’d be delighted to read your impressions of this model. For the price, it offers just about everything you could ask for in a good simracing chassis. Stiffness, accessory mounts as standard. Given that Flo and I are still looking for our next chassis, I have to admit that we’ve been quietly eyeing this one. We’ll just have to see how it performs in the field!

In the meantime, we’ll be in the comments to discuss the subject 😉
