Are you looking for state-of-the-art simracing equipment but are lost in the hundreds of offers on the market? Are you fed up with after-sales services that speak every language but French, and with interminable delivery times? Well, here’s a site that impressed me: The Right Sim.
Created by Maxime and Guillaume, two simracing enthusiasts, it’s fair to say that this site is right on time. In concrete terms, the car simulation market has literally exploded since 2020. But if there’s one thing that all simracers have in common, whether they’re beginners or advanced, it’s the difficulty they have in finding the right information and products for their setup.
Today I’d like to take you on a tour of The Right Sim. On the program: their (already impressive) catalog , their values , and even an interview ! After all, the two guys were kind enough to give me some time to talk about this ambitious project.
What is The Right Sim?
The Right Sim is the story of two friends who decided to put their professional skills at the service of their passion for car simulation.
Their ambition? To promote the best craftsmen in the simracing world. Facilitate access to cutting-edge products for the community. To enable every enthusiast to create THE setup that’s right for them.
Their site is radically simple to use, with clear product descriptions. When you see the gas factories offered by other players in the market (whose names I won’t mention, so as not to do them any harm), you can’t help but applaud their efforts to bring clarity to their visitors.
But how does The Right Sim work?
In concrete terms, Guillaume and Maxime go out and meet craftsmen who create top-quality products. They then offer to showcase their products on their marketplace: The Right Sim. They also facilitate exchanges concerning delivery and after-sales service.
In this respect, The Right Sim is right on the money, as the site responds exactly to a problem in the world of simracing. For several decades now, the world of car simulation has been monopolized by Logitech and Thrustmaster. These two brands, which tend to rest on their laurels, have been pushed aside by Fanatec and the arrival of the CSL DD.
But beyond these 3 must-have brands, there’s a whole host of products created by real enthusiasts who unfortunately don’t have the marketing budgets of these 3 giants. These products find themselves “invisible”, except perhaps in the eyes of a handful of serious enthusiasts who spend their time scouring the Internet. Of course, that was before the arrival of The Right Sim!
So, what can you find on their site?
Well, nothing less than the finest products designed by craftsmen at the cutting edge of innovation and quality. Their selections cover everything necessary for passionate simracers. You’ll find :
- Foldable cockpits , both static and dynamic
- A selection of bucket seats and monitor mounts
- Steering wheel bases and wheels
- Pedalboards
- A selection of high-end gearshifts and handbrakes
- Superb push-button gearboxes (which I’m going to try out as soon as I get the chance)
- But also stopwatches, gloves and shoes for even more immersion!
When it comes to brands, The Right Sim only partners with the best. Forget Logitech and Thrustmaster, for example. They have no place on a marketplace that aims to be at the top of its game. This is the list of partners you’ll find on their site. The list will obviously evolve and grow over time 😉
Category | Brand |
---|---|

But a beautiful catalog isn’t enough!
It’s all very well to have such an extensive catalog, but you still need to be confident about buying the products.
As an enthusiastic simracer, I too have been confronted with the problems that The Right Sim proposes to solve. Small craftsmen may make excellent equipment, but they often have a limited vision of how a business works. A beautiful catalog and innovations are fine, but they’re not enough. We also need a guarantee that we’ll be delivered quickly and at the right price. That our questions will be answered quickly and easily. And that the products will be guaranteed over time and supported by a solid after-sales service.
Guillaume and Maxime have taken these problems in hand, selecting their partners with care. Their criteria? The best guarantees for their customers: Most products come with a 2-year warranty. Fast delivery at the right price. Headache-free after-sales service management in French, to act as a link between buyer and seller in the event of a language barrier or lengthy response time from the seller.
Meet Maxime and Guillaume, creators of The Right Sim
Before writing this article, Maxime and Guillaume kindly agreed to meet me. During our videoconference chat, they shared their passion, goals and work ethic with me. I’ll let you meet Maxime in turn in this interview!
What do you bring to the simracing community with The Right Sim?
With The Right Sim, we want to introduce the simracing community to new brands offering innovative products and services. The best products are not necessarily the best known! We’re convinced that products created by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts, are the best.
Every simracer, whether new to this passion or seasoned, has unique needs and constraints. We want to offer products that speak to everyone, whatever their level of commitment to simracing.
In addition to products, we will soon be offering a range of services to help simracers in their development. For example, coaching services on the market’s leading simulations (e.g. iRacing), customized livery creation services, and more surprises to come..
Were you originally simracing enthusiasts?
Absolutely! Guillaume and I got into simracing over 10 years ago. First on consoles via Gran Turismo and the F1 games. We then took our passion to the PC, with iRacing and Assetto Corsa.
As time is running out, we’re now concentrating on iRacing. As racing fans, it’s the simulation that brings us the most emotion today. Please drop us a line if you see us on the track!
What prompted you to launch this project?
During the confinement period, we were approached by friends and people in our network for what could literally be called “consulting services” in simracing. These people wanted to get into simracing, but had no idea where to start. Choice of chassis, steering wheel, pedals, variable budget and constraints, etc… Some wanted immersion, others just wanted to play at weekends with their children.
Little by little, as we researched further, we discovered that, in addition to the well-known brands, there were many passionate craftsmen offering unique, high-quality products!
In the course of our discussions with some of these artisans, we discovered their need for visibility and ecommerce support.
The timing was perfect, as my background is in digital marketing and Guillaume’s in ecommerce. We decided that by creating The Right Sim, we had the means to offer a top-notch experience, whether for our customers or our partners. And there’s nothing nicer than combining two passions– video games and cars – in a professional activity!
How do you select your partners?
We’ve been in the simracing business for many years. However, we discover new products every day! If we think the product is of interest to the community, we contact the craftsman to obtain the information and guarantees we need to integrate it on The Right Sim.
In concrete terms, this means ensuring that the artisan complies with our quality charter. Without going into too much detail, the craftsman must offer first-rate customer service, reliable, high-performance products, and after-sales service that meets the requirements of a passionate simracer.
How do you see The Right Sim’s future in the coming year?
For this year, our aim is to offer new brands and new products every month. The simracing market is booming, with new players springing up every day!
We also have a number of projects in the pipeline. These projects, although varied, all have the same objective: to help simracers choose their next equipment (and services) so that they can have a unique, high-performance and immersive installation that reflects their image.
Who is this site for?
Looking at The Right Sim catalog today, it’s clear that the site is aimed at enthusiasts with a serious budget. And that’s only to be expected when you realize that all the products on the site are of the highest quality.
In other words, if you don’t yet have a simulation steering wheel and can only afford a Logitech G29, you’re in for a heart attack. It’s all top-of-the-range with the budget that goes with it.
But as they develop, Maxime and Guillaume also want to set up an advisory service for pilots. Whether it’s choosing the right equipment or optimizing their riding skills. This will undoubtedly be a wise choice, even for newcomers to virtual tracks!
Especially as the price of top-of-the-range simracing equipment has been falling for the past 2 years. This means that players on a more modest budget can finally enjoy Direct Drive steering wheels and Load Cell-equipped brake pedals, for example.
My opinion on The Right Sim!
For an enthusiast like me, The Right Sim represents a breath of fresh air on the French-speaking market. The products they put forward are mostly unknown to the general public. I was even surprised to discover several brands I’d never heard of, and which are clearly making me drool today!
One example is Custom Sim Engineering (CSE). I’m absolutely crazy about them, and I can just imagine them becoming part of my cockpit in a few weeks’ time. Look at this forged carbon fiber beauty:
This is exactly the kind of product that’s hard to find on the French market. Despite its impeccable quality and powerful commercial potential.
The arrival of The Right Sim is therefore excellent news for the small craftsmen of the simulation world. They finally have the opportunity to showcase their expertise to a wider audience. For simracers, it’s also the guarantee of choosing top-quality equipment. At the same time, the delivery and after-sales service aspect, which is usually a nightmare when you’re not trilingual, is secured.
So it’s with great pleasure that I invite you to discover the world of The Right Sim. Their passion and work ethic will blow you away. And it wouldn’t surprise me if I told you all about them again very soon 😉
As usual, don’t hesitate to share your thoughts in the comments 🙂 I’m looking forward to reading your opinions on The Right Sim and sharing them with you.
I also have a question for you, dear readers: which product from The Right Sim catalog would you like me to test for you in a future article?
